This is going to be a relatively short post. Finals week begins tomorrow with an Economics test and a big Chinese presentation. I'll post scores from around the league, but no descriptions. My apologies. If all works out well, I should be able to set up a website, complete with boxscores of all games, in the near future.

Nanjing Monarchs at Shanghai Red Sox
SHANGHAI – Even with the wind blowing out, a pitcher’s duel took place today at Pudong Stadium. Nanjing manufactured two runs on only three hits, besting a great performance by Bartolo Colon
Colon pitched well, striking out 8 over 8 innings. Nanjing’s first run came as Rickey Henderson reached first on an error, was bunted over to second, reached third on an infield single, and then scored on a Ty Cobb grounder to second. Nanjing’s only other tally came on a Wally Schang home run in the top of the 8th.
Nanjing’s starter, Sandy Koufax, was effective over his six-and-a-third innings, if not a tad wild. Sandy struck out 9 and only gave up three hits, but walked 3 in the process. After walking Keith Hernandez with one out in the bottom of the 7th, Sandy uncorked a wild pitch, sending Hernandez to second and Koufax to the showers. Japanese ace Tadashi Sugiura came on in relief and got the visitors out of the jam.
The only Shanghai run came in the bottom of the 9th on a Johnny Bench home run.
